Turkish side Fenerbahce have signed centre-back Diego Carlos from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.

The Turkish club are reportedly paying 10m euros (£8.45m), external for the 31-year-old.

Villa said they would “like to wish Diego good luck in his new professional chapter”.

Carlos made 58 appearances for Villa and scored one goal. He has not been involved in the club’s past five games.

Fenerbahce – managed by Jose Mourinho – are second in the Turkish Super Lig, six points behind leaders Galatasaray.
